Senior Node.js Developer

Code is a high-end e-commerce agency with Shopify at its core. Being a Coder means you are at the forefront of designing, developing and optimizing online stores for ambitious brands like Stoov, Intersport, Alpinestars, BOSKA, Mercer Amsterdam and Rosefield.

We're a team of 55 developers, project and customer success managers, marketers and strategists with a shared passion: e-commerce. We are remote-friendly and spread out across our three offices in Delft, Amsterdam and Berlin. With 16 different nationalities and over 40% women, we are a diverse team. In our back-end team we house three main activities. We develop custom Shopify apps that ensure unique customer experience in our clients’ stores, we integrate our clients’ tech stack, and we work on Returner - our exchange first, high volume returns platform.

About the role

As a Senior Node.js Developer at Code, you will take technical ownership of the products you work on, ensuring high-quality development and implementation. Your primary focus will be on Node.js, with occasional work involving React. You will have the opportunity to work on multiple products, particularly SaaS solutions, and projects hosted on GCP and gadget.dev.

You will work on a variety of projects, including:

Returner: Our own exchange-first high-volume returns solution for Shopify.
Shopify Checkout Extensions: Custom solutions for shipping rules, payment options, and additional validations in the checkout.
Shopify Functions: Implement personalized B2B pricing logic based on complex rule sets.
Custom Apps: Develop additional frontend functionality, such as recommendation apps or wishlists.
PIM Connectors: Sync multilingual data from a PIM system to Shopify.

You will be part of a dedicated team that includes 4 developers, 3 solution engineers, a project manager, and a support engineer.

About you:

You have a deep understanding of Node.js and are proficient in TypeScript, enabling you to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
You have hands-on experience with GraphQL, allowing you to build flexible and scalable APIs.
You are experienced in serverless programming, which makes your work more efficient and enjoyable. Experience with GCP is a significant advantage, and you’re familiar
with leveraging cloud services for building and deploying applications.
You possess strong analytical skills.
You can tackle problems independently.
While your primary focus is on backend development, you have a basic understanding of ReactJS for occasional frontend tasks.
You are proficient in both Dutch and English.
You have an HBO or WO level of thinking and working.
You are available 32-40 hours per week.
